Title:
Adopt Resolution #18-167 Approving Response to Draft Anoka County 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to review and respond to the Draft Comprehensive Plan Update for Anoka County.
Once every ten years, metro area communities must update their long-term land use plan and vision. As part of that update process, adjacent and impacted jurisdictions are afforded the opportunity to review and comment on adjacent plans.

Observations/Alternatives:
Staff has prepared a draft response for consideration by the City Council. Details of the response are in the attached document. Highlights of the response include, but are not limited to the following.
- Overview of Ramsey's Vision and Updated Land Use Plan
- Priorities of Ramsey's Highway 10 Plan
- Request for increased prioritization for planning for a Future Mississippi River Crossing
- Additional corridor planning for Highway 47, Nowthen Boulevard, Armstrong Boulevard, Green Valley Road, and 181st Avenue
- Reviewing options to increase ridership from the Northstar Commuter Rail - Ramsey Station
- Discussion alternative alignments for Central Anoka County Regional Trail, Rum River Regional Trail, and Regional Trail Search Corridor for Trott Brook
Funding Source:
This case is being handled as part of normal Staff duties.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the attached response.
Action:
Motion to adopt Resolution #18-167 approving response to the Draft Hennepin County Comprehensive Plan.
