Adopt Resolution #18-168 Approving Response to Draft Hennepin County 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update

The purpose of this case is to review and respond to the Draft Comprehensive Plan Update for Hennepin County.

Once every ten years, metro area communities must update their long-term land use plan and vision. As part of that update process, adjacent and impacted jurisdictions are afforded the opportunity to review and comment on adjacent plans.

Notification is not required.

Attached to this case is a draft response prepared by Staff for Council consideration. There are two topical areas of interest with potential impacts to Ramsey.

1. Transporation Plan - Mississippi River Crossing
2. Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA)

The draft response includes a request to increase prioritization for planning for a Future Mississippi River Crossing. The MRCCA Plan appears to meet the minimum requirements of the DNR with no negative impacts to Ramsey. The proposed detailed response is attached for review.

This case is being handled as part of normal Staff duties.

Staff recommends approval of the attached response.
