Title:
Declare the Results of the November 6, 2018 General Election
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: The purpose of this case is to accept and declare the results of the November 6, 2018 General Election.
Background: As per State Statutes, the City Council must serve as a Canvassing Board to accept and declare the results of a local election. The General Election was held on Tuesday, Novemer 6, 2018, and the City's eight polling places were open for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The residents also had the opportunity to vote absentee if they chose, either at Ramsey City Hall, at Anoka County Elections Department, or by mail.
The voter turnout for the General Election, including absentee votes, was on average 74.57 percent. The Abstract of Votes Cast and the 2018 Results Spreadsheet are attached.

Staff recommends accepting and declaring the results of the 2018 General Election and to sign the Abstract of Votes Cast.
