Approve Request to Declare Surplus Property

Staff is requesting Council declare the following property surplus and authorize sale/disposal of same:

2002 Ford F150
VIN# 2FTRX18W52CA57047
Mileage 129,427

This vehicle was replaced as part of the 2018 budget process.

Staff is requesting Council also declare the following Fire Department property surplus and authorize disposal of same:

60 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) bottles
30 Harnesses

The equipment was used for firefighter respiratory protection.  Respiratory protection is used not only in fires but also in environments where chemicals are present or oxygen is absent.  The SCBA's have reached their 15-year life expectancy and have been replaced in the 2018 budget.  Chief Kohner is requesting authorization to donate the surplus inventory to the Anoka Secondary Technical Education Program (S.T.E.P.) for education purposes. 
 

Staff recommends Council declare the above named vehicle as surplus and authorize sale/auction of same.
