Receive Grant From The Saint Paul Foundation

The City of Ramsey Police Department submitted an application to the Coss Family Foundation of The Saint Paul Foundation in September 2018.  The Police Department was award $10,000 for funding the purchase of thermal vision night goggles.  The goggles will be purchased in the near future for department use by the Officers.  This equipment will assist Officers in locating missing persons, and suspects at night when lighting is limited.

The Coss Family Foundation will not be present to present the award.  The Police Department will be sending a letter of appreciation to Virginia Coss in the near future.

Accepting the donation and use the funds to purchase the specified equipment.  There is no matching requirement with this grant.

Decline the donation if the City doesn't feel this is an acceptable donation.

There may be a small impact to the 2018 Budget for shipping or minor additional equipment.

Staff recommends accepting the donation.
