Title:
Update and Discussion Regarding 2011 Labor Negotiations
Background:
The City Council will go into closed session to receive staff updates and discuss the 2011 labor negotiations with regard to the City’s three labor contracts.
As per Minnesota Statute 13D.03, closed meetings for Labor Negotiations Strategy are permitted.
Observations:
Staff have met with all three union groups regarding the following:
• AFSCME for negotiating the second year of the 2010-2011 contract, which is a re-opener for 2011 wages and health insurance only , and
• LELS-Sergeants & LELS-Patrol for negotiating new contracts which end as of 12-31-10
Staff will provide information at the meeting.
Funding Source:
None at this time.
Council Action:
Based upon discussion - Any direction given at the Special City Council Meeting will be presented at a future City Council meeting.
