Title

Adopt Resolution #19-137 Appointing Councilmember Nadine Heinrich to the Highway 10 Committee

Purpose/Background:

The purpose of this case is to appoint Councilmember Nadine Heinrich to the Highway 10 Committee.  This appointment is necessary to fill the vacancy left on the Committee when former Councilmember Melody Shryock resigned.  Other members of the Committee include:  Mayor LeTourneau, Councilmember Riley, City Administrator Ulrich and Elwyn Tinklenberg of the Tinklenberg Group.

Three City Councilmembers serve on the Committee to address issues of concern to Highway 10, including legislative initiatives, grant requests, and attending the Anoka County Highway 10 Working Group meetings.  The Committee meets four to six times per year as needed.

Councilmember Heinrich has expressed an interest in serving on the Highway 10 Committee.  She recently was a part of the group that went to Washington, D.C. to advocate for transportation funding for Highway 10.  Furthermore, at the May 28, 2019 work-session, it was the consensus of the Council to appoint Councilmember Heinrich to the vacant position on the Highway 10 Committee.
