Report from Public Works Committee dated May 20, 2014
1. Review Feasibility Report Updates for Andrie Street Reconstruction: The consensus of the Public Works Committee was for no sidewalk and for staff to focus on a 36-foot street width with an on-road bicycle lane.
2. Consider Developing a Draft Special Assessments Policy: The consensus of the Public Works Committee was to direct staff to draft a Special Assessment Policy that clearly defines how special assessments are to be levied against properties benefiting from various types of improvement projects for consideration at the July 15, 2014 meeting.
3. Consider Speed Zone Study Recommendation for Green Valley Road: The majority consensus of the Public Works Committee was to require that the Traffic Control Modification Policy be followed and require a petition from five property owners or residents in the affected area before sending the Speed Zone Study forward to Anoka County.
4. Consider Crosswalk Installation Cost and Options: The consensus of the Public Works Committee was to recommend that the City Council approve the use of a pedestrian activated crosswalk system at select crosswalk locations and for staff to draft a policy that includes parameters where flashing pedestrian crossing signs will be used.

1. Community Cookout - Thursday, June 19, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Draw Park Amphitheater. Bring a donation of 5 non-perishable food items for the food shelf and receive a free hot dog meal OR a rib eye steak sandwich meal for $4.00. With no donation of food shelf items, the hot dog meal is $3.00 and the steak meal is $6.00. There will be a free concert featuring Shane Martin Band from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
