ACTION REQUESTED:
Continued discussion on the LEAD program. (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion)
BACKGROUND:
Elected officials and staff have visited locations that have implemented a version of jail diversion and are discussing and considering such a program in Roswell and Chaves County.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION:
To be considered as a program is developed.
LEGAL REVIEW:
The deputy City Attorney has been a part of discussions and tours of other programs.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Public Safety Committee is discussing and considering this program.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Discuss and consider.
