ACTION REQUESTED:

Recommend award of Hobson Flood Mitigation Project to Constructors Inc. in the amount of $7,513,529.03, which includes GRT.

BACKGROUND:

Initiated by: James MacCornack

Bids received on May 13, 2025 for the subject project have been reviewed. A Bid Tabulation is attached. Three bids were received as follows: (Amounts include tax of 8.2708%).
  1. Constructors Inc., Carlsbad, NM                    $7,513,529.03
  2. J&H Services Inc., Albuquerque, NM             $9,122,924.41
  3. KE&G Construction Inc., Alamogordo, NM    $9,968,267.35
Upon completion of review, Constructors Inc. is the qualified low bid. It is recommended to award this project to Constructors Inc. in the amount of $7,513,529.03, which includes GRT.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION:

Funding is per Water Trust Board Grant WPF-5949. Balance available is $8,551,262.

LEGAL REVIEW:

Not applicable for this agenda item.

BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:

Infrastructure Committee on 5/19/2025 did not have a quorum. Councilor Johnson and Councilor Oropesa requested this item be placed on Finance Committee agenda.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Proceed as presented.
