ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize to issue a PO (Purchase Order) for renewal of the contract for the professional services of temporary dispatchers to assist in the staffing issues of Consolidated Dispatch in the amount of $330,000. (Corn/Best)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Teri Best
Contracted dispatchers have been supporting Consolidated Dispatch during a period of critical staffing levels. Newly hired dispatchers are anticipated to complete training to work independently in around January 2026. The current contract expires in August 2025.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
Funding Source – This expenditure is budgeted within the 11014656 654801 line item for FY26. No budget adjustment is necessary.
- Consolidated Dispatch Operating and Personnel costs are reimbursed by Chaves County at 40%.
LEGAL REVIEW:
No Legal review required at this time.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
Public Safety voted (3-0) to refer to the Finance Committee at their meeting on July 16, 2025. The Finance Committee recommended approval 5-0 at their meeting on August 7, 2025.
