ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of the Rio Pecos Kennel Club Lodgers' Tax Funding Request in the amount of $3,997 for marketing, sanitation, and security. (Corn/Conyers)
BACKGROUND:

From their application: This will be the 72nd annual AKC All-Breed dog show held in Roswell with over 350 entries from all over New Mexico and the United States. Generally, about only 50 entries reside in the Roswell area. We have held the dog show at RIAC Park for about 26 years. Club members and participants own most equipment, generators, and tents used. About 30 RVs attend the show and park on the grounds, but all are self-contained since there are no amenities there. We hire 24-hour private security and custodial services, including porta-potties, which we include in the request for Lodgers' Tax Funding.
We have applied for and received Lodgers Tax Funding for many years. 3 years of Historical Lodgers’ Tax Funding Data: Marketing, sanitation, and security.

LEGAL REVIEW:
None at this time. The Legal Department will review the sponsorship agreement before signatures are collected.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Occupancy Tax Board recommended (5-0) to award Rio Pecos Kennel Club $3,997 for marketing, security, and sanitation at their July 22, 2025, meeting. The Finance Committee recommended approval 5-0 at its meeting on August 7, 2025.
