ACTION REQUESTED:
Resolution 25-41: Consider Resolution 25-41 for support of the application to the New Mexico Water Trust Board for the large diameter water line replacement project. (Corn/Valadez)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Andrew Valadez
City of Roswell Utility Department has identified a potential large diameter replacement project for the 36-inch diameter transmission line on Montana from 19th Street to 8th Street. This line has had multiple leaks in the past few years and is also identified in the current Water Master Plan as a priority replacement project. It is proposed to apply to the Water Trust Board for a $10,000,000 project to replace this line.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
This is for project application support. If awarded, Water Trust Board would provide funding proposal details. If approved and awarded, project would be included in FY27 budget.
LEGAL REVIEW:
Resolution has been submitted to City Attorney for review.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Infrastructure Committee on 7/21/2025 voted (5-0) to recommend this item to the City Council consent agenda. The Finance Committee recommended approval 5-0 at its meeting on August 7, 2025.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Proceed as presented.
