ACTION REQUESTED:
Consider award recommendation of ITB-25-012 Golf Merchandise to Acushnet Company.
BACKGROUND:

The City issued ITB-25-012 for the supply of golf merchandise for resale at the Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River Pro Shop. Bids were opened on August 12, 2025. Two bids were received:
- BSN Sports, LLC offered a flat 10% discount off MSRP for golf balls, clubs, bags, gloves, and other merchandise.
- Acushnet Company submitted wholesale pricing sheets across all categories including golf balls, clubs, bags, gloves, apparel, footwear, and accessories (Titleist, FootJoy, and Scotty Cameron brands). Discounts ranged from approximately 25% to 50% below MSRP, significantly exceeding BSN’s offer.
After bids were reviewed, staff determined that Acushnet’s pricing and category coverage provide the most advantageous option for the City.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION:
Purchases will be made on an as-needed basis and funded through the Golf Course operational budget.

Contracts to be reviewed by the Legal Department upon award.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Monday, September 2025, meeting of the Infrastructure Committee will be the first consideration of this award recommendation.
