ACTION REQUESTED:
Consider approval of MainStreet Roswell Sponsorship Agreement for the America 250 Roswell in the amount of $150,000.00 from the General Fund. (Gass/Conyers)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: TJ Conyers (Sponsored by Councilor Halvorson and Councilor Heldenbrand)
The America 250 Roswell Committee will organize the Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration, and MainStreet Roswell will manage and oversee the event’s funding as the fiduciary.
The year 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, commemorating the nation’s founding in 1776 and honoring America’s history, values, and future.
America 250 Roswell is dedicated to honoring our nation’s 250 years of independence by celebrating Roswell’s history, people, and patriotic spirit through inclusive events, educational opportunities, and community-driven initiatives that unite residents and visitors alike.

LEGAL REVIEW:
The Legal Department has reviewed the agreement for sufficiency.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Finance Committee recommended approval 4-1 to a $150,000 sponsorship at their February 3, 2026, meeting. This item was presented at Finance with UFO Festival sponsorship agreement. Following Hess Yntema’s recommendation, these items were bifurcated.
