ACTION REQUESTED:
The Roswell Police Department is requesting the use of the funds to purchase and outfit 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe that were budgeted prior to the new fiscal year 27. (Aldana)
BACKGROUND:
The Roswell Police Department was approved $700,000.00 for new police vehicles. The Roswell Police Department obtained money from the state to purchase police vehicles (junior bill) for the amount over $130,000.00. We have reserved ten (10) 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 PPV totaling $566,326.00 from Melloy in Las Lunas, NM. Dana Safety Supply Inc quote to outfit all ten vehicles is $160,060.00. This will total $726,386.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION:
Junior Bill money will help cover some of the cost. The Roswell Police Department reduced some of their line items (operating budget) to purchase these police units this year.
