The Eastern New Mexico State Fair has been an annual event in Chaves County for over 100 years.  This event begins with the parade on Monday, followed by five days of agricultural events, arts and crafts displays, a ranch rodeo competition, food and goods vendors, and a carnival.  The Fair operates Monday through Saturday.  The mission of ENMSF is to educate as well as entertain patrons from all over the region.  In addition to live music from a variety of genres, performances from local groups, and contracted variety of entertainers, ENMSF also showcases non-profit organizations and community resources.  ENMSF hosts school groups for field trips, unique activities for our senior citizens, and exclusive access for individuals with special needs.

The Finance Committee recommended funding in the amount of $20,000 for marketing, sanitation, and security, and $20,000 to be considered for sponsorship.  Total recommendation of $40,000.

The City Attorney's office will review and approve the sponsorship agreements before signatures are collected.

The Occupancy Tax Board voted 3-0 to recommend funding the Eastern New Mexico State Fair at its meeting on July 21, 2026. The Finance Committee recommended approval 4-0 at its meeting on Monday, August 10, 2026.
