ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to enter into a lease agreement with the Roswell Invaders for the use and operation of Joe Bauman Stadium for a term of up to five (5) years. (Arnold/Vickers)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Jessica Vickers
The proposed lease agreement authorizes the Roswell Invaders, a member of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs, to utilize and operate Joe Bauman Stadium for professional baseball activities and related uses. The agreement includes an initial two-year term with the option to renew for up to three additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement of the parties. The lease also provides for continued use of the facility by the Roswell High School Baseball Team through a shared scheduling arrangement administered by the lessee. Under the agreement, the Roswell Invaders will be responsible for routine maintenance, groundskeeping, trash removal, utilities, and day-to-day operations of the facility.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
The lease establishes an annual rent of $100, subject to future adjustments as outlined in the agreement. The lessee is responsible for utilities, routine maintenance, and insurance requirements associated with the use of the facility.
LEGAL REVIEW:
The lease agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the City Attorney.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Legal Committee recommended approval with a vote of 4-0 to present it to the full council agenda on August 31, 2026.
