| VISION 2024 FOCUS AREA: Water and Land Stewardship - Responsible planning for sustainable water management and land conservation. |
SUMMARY/BACKGROUND:
The Town of Prescott Valley has identified stormwater management as a priority within its strategic plan and ongoing operations. Because water resources and watershed management extend beyond jurisdictional boundaries, Yavapai County has been a regional partner in supporting projects that promote stormwater infiltration and groundwater recharge.
In coordination with the efforts of Yavapai County, the Town proposes adoption of a Resolution supporting local and regional stormwater infiltration and recharge projects (including grassland restoration projects) that contribute to the health of aquifers, rivers, and watersheds throughout the region. The Resolution recognizes the importance of collaborative watershed management and encourages projects that improve water resources, watershed health, and resilience within Prescott Valley and greater Yavapai County.
