SUMMARY/BACKGROUND:
On September 14, 2023, the Town Council approved an agreement with Roadway Asset Services (RAS) to assess road conditions within the Town and prepare data to determine types of treatment needed for future roadway maintenance.
Over the last three years, staff has implemented a pavement preservation program based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) data gathered by RAS. Staff would now like to give the Council an update on the program and share information regarding possible next steps.
Staff will be seeking Council approval at a later date to have RAS re-drive and re-rank the PCI data of all Town roadways in Spring 2027. It is recommended that PCI data be updated every 3–5 years to ensure accurate information is being utilized for pavement preservation planning (including incorporation of new streets and roadways improved as part of the pavement preservation program).
