Discussion and possible action to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.) between Webb County Sheriff's Office and Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN) to support the SCAN, Inc. SASI Program's application for funding for primary prevention programming in partnership with the Webb County Sheriff's Office to further primary prevention efforts in Webb County, and to show that the program will be supported for successful implementation of program activities within the community; and authorize the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; any other matter incident thereto. The M.O.U. will have no cost to Webb County.
Issue: The SCAN Inc. SASI Program and Webb County Sheriff's Office have a long history of collaboration, including facilitating referrals for survivors of sexual and domestic violence to receive counseling services and shelter.
Solution: Approve MOU to continue to support SCAN Inc. in assisting survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
