Discussion and possible action to authorize the Economic Development Department to submit a grant application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency –Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grants Program to provide clean drinking water to colonias adjacent to Hwy 59 and La Presa through a hydro panel systems technology. The grant shall not exceed Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00) and authorizes the County Judge to act as the County's Executive Officer and Authorized Signator in all matters pertaining thereto. This grant application does not require a county cash/in-kind match. All required documents were submitted to the Economic Development Department, and the solicitation complies with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) policy and procedures.
 
Issue: Colonias along HWY 59 and La Presa in rural Webb County need access to clean drinking water.

Solution:  Provide residents of Webb County, Hwy 59, and La Presa colonias access to clean drinking water through a hydro panel systems technology.
 
Result: If funded, Webb County will establish access to clean drinking water through a hydro panel systems technology in rural areas of Hwy 59 and La Presa.
