Discussion and possible action to accept the award and enter into an agreement with the Texas Office of the Governor - Criminal Justice Division (CJD) DC - Specialty Courts Program Grant No. 5091601, in the amount of TWO HUNDRED NINETY SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($296,900.00) beginning September 1, 2024–August 31, 2024, for the Webb County Court-at-Law II Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program. There is no cash/in-kind match required, therefore there is no financial impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent for review to the Economic Development Department and the acceptance of the grant award is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Accepting the grant will authorize the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Notice of Award from the Office of the Texas Governor for the Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program was received on November 4, 2024, acceptance by Commissioners Court is required to activate grant funding. 

Solution: Accept grant award to expand services and proceed with additional treatment services provided to eligible court participants program.

Result: If accepted, funding will expand services within Webb County and provide additional treatment services to eligible  participants.
