Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of a Texas Community Development Block Grant application and resolution to the Texas Department of Agriculture for the Colonia Fund - Construction Program for water and/or sewer infrastructure improvements in the colonias not to exceed in the amount of $1,000,000.00 and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any match and, thus, will have no impact on the general fund. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures

Issue: There is a need for water infrastructure improvements in the colonias to ensure access to safe, clean drinking water and enhance system functionality.

Solution: Enhance water quality through the installation of new water infrastructure and the development of a proper sewer system.

Result: The development and submission of a Texas Community Development Block Grant application to the Texas Department of Agriculture for the Colonia Fund Construction Program to support water system improvements. The Economic Development Department will ensure full compliance with all requirements set by the funding agency.
