Discussion and possible action to approve the Head Start Community Assessment.
Issue: In accordance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards, determining community strengths, needs and resources, in order to design a program that meets community needs and builds on strengths and resources, a program must conduct a Community Assessment at least once over a five-year period with annual updates if there are significant shifts in community needs or demographics.
Solution: Review and approve the 2024 Community Assessment
Result: The Head Start Program will be in compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS).

Background:
The Community Assessment presents an overview of the current community conditions for Webb County. This assessment is to be used to aid in identifying the needs of low-income children and families in Webb County. It is also used to develop goals and objectives for program and strategic planning.
Previous Court Action:
A Community Assessment update was approved by the Court on May 23, 2022.
