Discussion and possible action per Local Government Code 291.001, “the commissioners court of a county shall: (1) provide, as soon as practicable after a county seat is established or moved, a courthouse and offices for county officers at the county seat.”; and any other matters incident thereto. Designating Julio Garcia Room located on the 4^th floor of the Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini Justice Center to house the offices and staff of the DWI Court & Youth Center for Success.

Issue: Webb County Court-at-Law II has been awarded two state grants to expand its existing federal grant specialty court programs. The WCCLII court is in need of contiguous space adjacent to its main court offices to accommodate full-time personnel and comply with the safety occupancy code. 

Solution: Commissioners Court approved the Julio Garcia Room adjacent to the WCCLII courtroom for the courts exclusive use. No agreements have been reached since the last commissioners' court meeting between the stakeholders regarding mutually agreeable use of space.
 
Result: Per Commissioners Court approval and WCCLII assessment and research, the Julio Garcia Room continues to be the best placement for the specialty court staff.
