Discussion and possible action to enter into an Asbestos Removal and Abatement Agreement with River City Environmental, LLC for asbestos removal and abatement related to the building located at 918 and 920 Houston Street (“Rock House”) in the amount of SEVENTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($17,500.00) with work to be completed within four business days from the issuance of the “Notice to Proceed”, authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto.  [Account #1001-1130-001-432001 (General Fund-General Operating Exp-Administration-Professional Services)]
 
Issue: Webb County was gift deeded the property to 918 and 920 Houston Street; however, the building located on said property has asbestos, according to the report produced by O’Connor Engineering & Science, Inc.
 
Solution: O’Connor Engineering has developed the specifications regarding a remediation plan for said building which will be followed by River City Environmental, LLC in order to remove and abate the asbestos in the building.
 
Result: Approving a contract with River City Environmental, LLC will allow Webb County to remediate and abate the asbestos in the building.

Webb County is in need of asbestos remediation work on a building located on property that was gift deeded to the county.
