Discussion and possible action to continue paying grant-funded personnel under the Office of the Governor Grant No. 4376703, Operation Lone Star (OLS) Grant Program, for a period of ninety (90) days, pending notification of grant continuation award from the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office. All personnel costs will be reimbursed through grant funds.

Issue: The current funding under Grant No. 4376703, Operation Lone Star (OLS) Grant Program, is set to expire on August 31, 2025. As of this date, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, has not issued a notice of award for the subsequent grant cycle. Without approval of this item, personnel currently funded under this grant will be unpaid starting September 1, 2025.

Solution: Authorize a 90-day payroll extension for OLS grant-funded personnel, effective September 1, 2025, through November 30, 2025, to maintain operational continuity. All personnel costs incurred during this period will be submitted for reimbursement upon grant award.

Result: This action will allow the Operation Lone Star Program in Webb County to maintain personnel critical to its mission of deterring and interdicting criminal activity, and supporting ongoing border security efforts, without interruption.
