Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit Request for Proposals (RFP) for Inmate Phone Services for the Webb County Jail in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Section 262.030 (Alternative Competitive Proposal Procedure for Certain Goods and Services) and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The Webb County Sheriff’s Office provides means of communication for the incarcerated through a contracted vendor to include equipment, installation, software maintenance, collection of fees, commission payments and support services.  The current initial term has expired, and no written notice has been provided by Webb County to the contracted vendor to exercise the renewal options in the inmate telephone service agreement. 
 
Solution: Consideration to authorize the formal solicitation of sealed proposals for these services.  
 
Result: If approved, the Webb County Purchasing Agent will solicit/invite interested parties to participate in this public solicitation for inmate phone services for the Webb County Jail subject to formal award by the Webb County Commissioners Court.
