Discussion and possible action to authorize the use of funds in the amount of $67,500 to pay RZ Communications to relocate radio tower communications equipment shelter from Lobo Tower to Las Lomas (Crown Castle) and by order authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue an Emergency Purchase Order in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; §262.024 (Discretionary exemptions)(a.) and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-3010-001-470000 (General Fund Sheriff Administration-Capital Outlay)]

Issue: On October 26, 2020, Commissioners Court authorized an agreement with Motorola Solutions to install radio towers to improve radio coverage for the jurisdictional areas covered by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office. The relocation of the radio tower communication equipment shelter requires additional funds to cover unforeseen expenses from the move from Lobo Tower to Las Lomas (Crown Castle). 

Solution: Approval of funding to move the radio tower communication equipment shelter.

Result: Completed project of radio communications in the jurisdictional areas of the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
