Discussion and possible action to approve the purchase of eighty-one (81) V700 Body Worn Cameras and all accessories for duty use, including batteries, clips, software integration and programming for video, service and warranty from Motorola Solutions (DIR Cooperative Contract # CPO-5433), pursuant to Texas Local Government Code; §271.101 and §271.102, Subchapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program, for an amount not to exceed $143,095.00 and to further authorize the legal department to enter into and finalize a ten (10) year agreement and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The Webb County Sheriff’s Office currently uses legacy body-worn cameras and in-car camera systems that need to be upgraded to current technology.  Many of the dash cameras and body-worn cameras have reached end of life and are no longer serviceable. This transition will allow for off-site data storage, allowing the Sheriff’s Office to begin the process of discontinuing on-site data storage.

Solution: Enter into an agreement with Motorola Solutions to provide modern equipment and technology with off-premise cloud storage.

Result: The Sheriff’s Office will be equipped with updated Body Worn Cameras and In-Car technology to better serve the community.

The ten (10) year agreement includes Command Central DEMS (software integration for BWCs and in-car dash cameras), unlimited BWC and in-car dash camera video cloud storage and streaming on compatible items with ALPR activation on compatible in-car systems, and software and hardware refreshes every three (3) years. Twenty-five (25) of the V700 Body Worn Cameras will be for Precinct #2 and Precinct #3 Constables.
