Discussion and possible action to ratify the approval of a new credit card issued by Webb County's designated Bank Depository, Falcon International Bank assigned to the Webb County Purchasing Agent for County authorized expenditures such as airfare expenses for County related travel and for other expenditures authorized by the County Commissioners Court on a case by case basis subject to all applicable financial controls and policies set by the Webb County Commissioners Court and any other maters incident thereto.
Issue: The previous Citibank County credit card was discontinued due to termination of its Statewide cooperative contract with TXMAS. Due to ongoing reservations for the upcoming Legislative trip to Washington, DC and other reservations for County related business the issuance of a new credit card needed to be expedited.
Solution: Consideration to ratify and approve the credit card issued by Falcon International Bank for County use for air travel and other purchases approved by the Webb County Commissioners Court. Falcon National Bank is our Bank Depository and also provides credit card services to the Sheriff's Office - Mental Health Division.
Result: A new credit card will be available with customer service advantages from a local bank that is also the Webb County Depository Bank.

Financial Impact will depend on which department is requesting use of credit card for airfare and/or other expenses approved by Commissioners Court. A one-time fee of $25.00 will hit the first statement for the expedited process requested by the Webb County Purchasing Agent.
