Discussion and possible action to approve lowest qualified bidder LED Electric and Lighting Contractors for the installation of a new automatic transfer switch for an existing Generac generator located at 4101 Juarez Street also known as the Roots Recovery Center (Former Adult Detox Center) for an amount not to exceed $24,750.00 and any other matters incident thereto [Account #1001-1130-001-470000 (General Fund-General Operating Exp-Administration-Capital Outlay)] 

Issue: The Roots Recovery Center is pending an inspection by the State of Texas and the existing Generac Generator requires an automatic transfer switch (ATS).  In the event of a power failure, the ATS will detect the power outage and automatically start up generator for backup power.  This project was not budgeted and requires Court action for a capital improvement and funding identification.   

Solution: Three (3) price quotes from local vendors were secured, LED Electric and Lighting Contractors is the lowest bidder.  Bids ranged from $24K+ to $43K+.  Specifications for ATS were prepared by the Webb County Engineering Department.

Result: If approved, an official Purchase Order will be issued to vendor for the awarded amount.  County Engineering will provide oversight of this project.
