Discussion and possible action to ratify the submission of form SF-424 (Letter of Intent) and grant application to the Department of Justice OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program. This request shall Designate the Webb County Judge as the authorized official to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. There is no match requirement for this grant. All grant documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: There is a need for resources to address the issue of crimes involving drug or human trafficking committed within the United States. The Department of Justice has provided available resources through a grant opportunity to have prosecutors serve in cross-designated capacities.

Solution: Authorize the ratification of the submission of form SF-424 and grant application as set forth above to ensure that the District Attorney’s Office is able to have prosecutors serve in cross-designated capacities.

Result: The District Attorney’s Office will be able to have prosecutors serve in cross-designated capacities.
