Discussion and possible action to approve and adopt the revised Self-Help Center(SHC) Housing Rehabilitation / Reconstruction and New Construction, Housing Assistance Guidelines (HAG) for SHC Contract Number(s) CSH23-0520 and CSH24-0168. These revisions are necessary for compliance with the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA).
Background:
Language in the Housing Assisstance Guidelines's has been revised to include recent requirements for applicants seeking program assistance and benefits. Grantees are required to perform citizenship verifications through the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) System. SAVE is an online service administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that enables registered user agencies to verify citizenship eligibility for applicants seeking benefits.
