Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise a Request for Proposal to solicit a highly qualified individual / group to operate and manage the Webb County 1848 existing restaurant and pavilion concession area consistent with the goals and discretion of the Webb County Commissioners Court and in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; §262.030 (Alternative Competitive Proposal Procedures for Certain Goods and Services) and any other matters incident thereto  [Account #2031-1010-001-432001 (Webb County Fairgrounds - Professional Services)]
 
Issue: The Webb County Commissioners Court is in need of a qualified individual / group that has the capacity and knowledge to operate and manage both the Webb County 1848 restaurant and pavilion concession stand.  Services include but are not limited to operation of the fairgrounds restaurant and pavilion concession stand in an economical, effective and healthy manner that complies with all applicable local, county, state and federal regulations.  Awarded respondent will be expected to secure all necessary permits and licenses to operate a restaurant and concession stand that serves food and beverages. 
 
Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise a formal Request for Proposal which would allow interested parties to submit their proposals for the services being requested. 
 
Result: Secure formal proposals as authorized by Commissioners Courts and return to Commissioner Court with recommendations for selection of most qualified, best and final offer, if required and award.
