Discussion and possible action to approve a Non-Financial Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.) between the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Webb County for Webb County’s inclusion in the Texas Statewide Interoperability Channel Plan (TSICP) in which will authorize the use by Webb County first responders for state-licensed radio channels held by the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute any and all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This state-mandated MOU authorizes the use of certain radio frequencies by emergency response organizations as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Emergency Communications Division and the Texas Department of Public Safety. It also is required for the purchase of radio equipment through state grants.
