Discussion and possible action to authorize the Economic Development Department to develop and submit an application to the United States Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) grant under the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program (CFI) in the amount up to FIFTEEN MILLION ($15,000,000) in which TWELVE MILLION ($12,000,000) is in grant funds and THREE MILLION ($3,000,000) will be private sector match for Electric Vehicle (EV) Transportation Infrastructure in the rural areas of Webb County, and to designate the County Judge as the authorized signatory on all documents pertaining to this application.  This action will not have an impact on the county general fund.  The Economic Development Department has reviewed the documentation and it is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) policy and procedures.
 
Issue: Webb County is in need of establishing accessible EV charging stations in rural low-income areas.

Solution: Webb County will apply for the Discretionary Grant funding under the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Program for funding and to address this issue.
        
Result: Webb County will establish a viable EV charging station network in rural areas of the county.
