Discussion and possible action to authorize the County Judge to sign the 2025 Renewal Notice and Benefit Confirmation forms with the Texas Association of Counties (AmWINS Group Benefits) for the County Silver Choice Retiree Program. There will be an increase to the monthly premium in the retiree prescription supplement plan, from $213.62 to $215.51, effective January 2, 2025, which covers County retirees 65 and over and their dependents and any matters incident thereto. 

Issue: Webb County presently acts as the administrator for the Silver Choice program with TAC for those retirees receiving coverage through the program. There is no cost and no contribution from the County and the Risk Management Office merely drafts the total premiums from the Silver Choice retirees' accounts and forwards the premiums to TAC.

Solution: Continue administering the program for the Silver Choice Retirees for Plan year 2025 and sign the agreement with TAC.

Result: The coverage for those Silver Choice retirees who choose to remain in the program will continue without interruption.

The County Choice Silver Program is for County retirees 65 and older and their eligible dependents. 

The Silver Choice Program has been offered to County retirees and their eligible employees for more than ten (10) years.
