Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Purchasing Agent to solicit competitive bids/proposals for the replacement and installation of two (2) new x-ray inspection units for the Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini Justice Center Building for an amount not to exceed $68,750.00 pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code; Sub-Chapter C: Competitive Bidding in General and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #2703-5205-006 - Revenue Replacement Fund]   

Issue: The existing security checkpoint X-Ray machines located at both north and south entrances to the Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini Justice Center Building are outdated and need to be replaced due to more frequent repairs.  Existing equipment was purchased in 2009.    
 
Solution: Consideration to authorize the Purchasing Agent to secure pricing to purchase two (2) new X-Ray checkpoint machines meeting the specifications required by the Sheriff’s Office.  
 
Result: If approved, the Purchasing Agent will proceed with this purchase by securing formal bids for the required equipment as per specifications approved by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
