Discussion and possible action to approve an exemption on the maximum $15.00 Part-Time Hourly Pay Rate to $20.00 Maximum Part-Time Hourly Pay Rate for Deputy Constable. The total salary will be paid from the existing approved part-time funds account.

Issue: The current maximum part-time hourly rate is capped at $15. Due to increased workload, the Constable’s Office is seeking to hire a part-time Deputy Constable. At the current rate, applicant interest is expected to be minimal, limiting our ability to fill this position with qualified personnel.

Solution: Approve an exemption to increase the maximum part-time hourly rate from $15 to $20 per hour specifically for the Deputy Constable position.

Result: Approval of this exemption will allow the Pct. 1 Constable Office to offer a more competitive wage, increasing the applicant pool and enabling the hiring of a qualified part-time Deputy Constable to meet workload demands. No financial impact to the county will be added salary will be within the approved part-time line item.
