Discussion and possible action to approve the purchase of twenty-nine (29) sets of bunker gear from Casco Industries, Inc. (Buy-Board #698-23) for an amount not to exceed $108,305.14 for the Webb County Fire Department in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Section 271.101 & 271.102 (Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program) and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-3140-001-470000 (General Fund-Fire & EMS Services-Administration-Capital Outlay)]
 
Issue: The Webb County Fire Department needs to replace twenty-nine (29) sets of bunker gear that will soon expire.
 
Solution: Consideration to authorize the purchase of new bunker gear, also known as personal protective equipment (PPE) for firefighters. This request is budgeted under the FY 2026 adopted budget for the Webb County Fire Department.
 
Result: Upon court approval, the order for the Personal Protective Equipment will be placed by Webb County Purchasing Agent.  The new (PPE) will provide up-to-date gear for firefighters to protect themselves from the heat, flames, and other hazards of firefighting.
