Discussion with possible action authorizing county staff and administration to collaborate with the City of Laredo to seek a proposal for animal control services in the unincorporated areas of the county; and any other matters incident thereto.   
  
Issue: Regulating and controlling stray and dangerous animals in the county continues to be a concern for county residents. The Sheriff’s Office is the only authorized official that can enforce certain rules regarding dogs and dangerous animals, but with limited capacity.
 
Solution: Working in partnership with the City of Laredo through an interlocal agreement for animal control services in the unincorporated areas of the county would help both governing entities in addressing and controlling this problem.
 
Result: Potential agreement for services would help control and regulate this issue in the county.
