Discussion and possible action to authorize the County Treasurer to close the non-interest-bearing escrow bank account at Falcon International Bank designated for Scofflaw.
Issue: Commissioners Court authorized the County Tax Assessor Collector to open a bank account to implement Hamer Enterprises Scofflaw Program. However, the non-interest bearing escrow account resides with Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) as per Attachment B, Section B. of the agreement, so the account is not necessary.
Solution: Close the non-interest bearing account at Falcon International Bank.
Result: The County will maintain the required balance in the escrow account established with TxDMV and close the bank account opened with $0.01 at Falcon International Bank.
