Discussion and possible action to enter into an agreement from April 13. 2026 to April 30, 2027 with Laredo College (LC) to provide training for Webb County employees, specifically in the areas of leadership development for supervisors and managers (Supervisor Academy) and customer service workshops. Training sessions will be conducted primarily at the Webb County Billy Hall Administration Building. The Supervisor Academy class participants would be meeting twice a month, three-hour classes, for three months, $200 per participant. The customer service workshops will be conducted as needed and will be 1.5-hour classes, at $50 per participant. Laredo College will provide qualified instructors, training materials, and certificates of completion. This agreement is subject to budget availability. Issue: Webb County continues to experience an ongoing need to strengthen leadership competencies among supervisors and managers, as well as enhance customer service skills across departments to improve service delivery to the public.
 
Solution: Approve and execute an agreement with Laredo College to deliver structured training programs, including a Supervisor Academy and customer service workshops, tailored to meet the County’s operational needs.
 
Result: Webb County employees will receive consistent, high-quality training that promotes leadership development, improves customer service, and supports a more efficient and professional workplace environment.
