Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of two (2) Kawasaki Utility Terrain Vehicles from BMG Xtreme Sports for an amount not to exceed $42,000.00 using Federal Forfeiture Funds (no financial impact to the county budget), and to authorize a transfer of funds from Federal Forfeiture Fund Balance 2180-259700 to Federal Forfeiture Capital Outlay 2180-3150-001-470000 for Webb County Constable Pct. 1 Office. Issue: Not having UTV’s limits access to rough terrain, slows emergency response, reduces equipment transport, and decreases overall operational efficiency.
Solution: Acquire this UTV’s to enhance patrol and community policing in the downtown area, riverbanks and any special events.
3 Bids were secured. Recommending lowest bidder BMG Xtreme Sports.
