There will be a Public Hearing to consider the tax increase. This public hearing will be held on Monday, SEPTEMBER 8, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the Webb County Courthouse, Second Floor, 1000 Houston St., Laredo, TX, 78040. You have the right and are encouraged to attend the hearings and make comments if you wish.

Open Public Hearing on Tax Increase (pursuant to Chapter 26, Tax Code) by Honorable Tano E. Tijerina, Webb County Judge.

PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX INCREASE. Public Hearing of proposed tax rate of 0.382500 per $100 value for Tax Year 2025. This rate raises $140,745,290, which is $16,232,400 or 13.04% more revenue than that raised by taxes imposed last year. The tax rate will provide revenue for the General Fund. Road & Bridge Fund, and Debt Service. The rate includes $0.341108 per $100 value for General Fund Maintenance and Operation; $0.024775 per $100 value for General Fund – Debt Service Bonds; $0.016322 for Road & Bridge Fund M&O; $0.000295 for Road & Bridge – Debt Service – Bonds.

The Webb County Commissioners Court hereby reserves the right to go into closed session at any time during this public meeting, if such is requested by the County Attorney or other legal counsel for the County, pursuant to his or her duty under Section 551.071(2) of the Government Code, to consult privately with his or her client on an item on the agenda, or on a matter arising out of such item.
