DISCUSSION:
Chapter 2 (Administration), Article III (Advisory Commission) of the West Covina Municipal Code (WCMC) outlines the duties of each advisory commission, including the Planning Commission. WCMC Section 2-71 requires the annual election of officers (chair and vice chair) for the Planning Commission be held the first regular meeting in May. Since the Planning Commission did not meet in May and during the first meeting in June due to lack of business, the election of officers will be held June 27, 2023.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Planning Commission conduct the annual election of officers.
