Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving an addition to language in the Employee Policy Manual, clarifying the maximum break in service to qualify for an adjusted service date, if an exception is approved by Human Resources.
Background
An employee that leaves employment with Williamson County and subsequently returns to County employment within 90 days is eligible for an adjusted service date for the purposes of years of service, longevity and leave accruals. There is an exception that can be granted one time and the intent of the policy was that the exception could not extend beyond a one year break in service. This agenda item will clarify the intent with the language added regarding the maximum one year break in service.
