Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on reappointing Marlene S. McMichael to the Williamson County and Cities Health District Board of Directors to serve a three (3) year term commencing effective January 1, 2017 and ending December 31, 2019.

The WCCHD Cooperative Agreement sets forth that “1.9.  All vacancies caused by death, resignation or removal of a director shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term by the governing body of the Member which made the original appointment. At the discretion of the appointing governing body, if less than one (1) year remains in the unexpired term, then the governing body may appoint a director to fill the unexpired portion of the term plus a full term of three (3) years.” 

Ms. McMichael was appointed to take the place of Commissioner Larry Madsen on the Board of the WCCHD following Commissioner Madsen’s appointment to the Commissioners Court.  Commissioner Madsen’s then existing three (3) year term on the Board expired on December 31, 2017 and the Commissioners Court did not specify whether Ms. McMichael’s appointment was for both the unexpired term plus an additional three (3) year term.  This item is necessary to appoint Ms. McMichael for an additional three (3) year term.
